Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition Confirmed for Release! Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Release Date Updated to June 5, 2025

[2025年4月11日, 香港] Game Source Entertainment (GSE) announced that the release date for Nintendo Switch™ Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, a fantasy life-simulation RPG developed by Japanese game company Marvelous and distributed by GSE in Asia, now has an updated launch date of June 5, 2025 (Thursday) to coincide with the launch of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition for Japan region.

Nintendo Switch™ Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition* will launch on June 5 (Thursday). Pre-order for both versions is open now. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to all players eagerly awaiting the release, as well as those who have pre-ordered the Nintendo Switch™ version of the game.
※The Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is scheduled for release in the Taiwan region between July and September 2025.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition will support high-resolution graphics and higher frame rates gameplay. Additionally, players can use mouse controls for an enhanced village-building experience.

Players who have purchased Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma for Nintendo Switch™ (physical edition/digital edition) will be able to continue their experience on the Nintendo Switch™ 2 platform in the future. Additionally, players may upgrade to Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition by purchasing the game's upgrade pack. As announced during the April 2 Nintendo Direct and on our official website and X, we have officially unveiled Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition. We are truly delighted to finally share this news with all of you.
From the initial planning stages, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma was designed to launch simultaneously on Nintendo Switch™, Steam and Nintendo Switch™ 2. To ensure all platform versions deliver content that meets players’ expectations, the entire development team has dedicated ourselves wholeheartedly to the preparations. Currently, progress for each version is proceeding smoothly, so please rest assured.
However, there is one matter for which we must offer our deepest apologies. To align with the release of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition, the game’s launch date has been adjusted from May 30 (Friday) to June 5 (Thursday). We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our players.
Our goal is to ensure all players can enjoy the game simultaneously across platforms. After careful consideration, we decided to synchronize the release dates for the Nintendo Switch™ and Steam versions with the Nintendo Switch™ 2’s launch schedule. We once again apologize sincerely to those who have already pre-ordered the game.
Please note that the Nintendo Switch™ version of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will remain fully playable on the Nintendo Switch™ 2 console. However, to access exclusive features of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition, players will need to update their version by purchasing the game's upgrade pack.
